My name is Rachel and I'm a graduate of The Bancroft School of Massage in Worcester, MA.  I am a licensed and insured massage therapist in downtown Amherst, MA.  I incorporate Swedish relaxation massage with deep tissue, sports, and myofascial release techniques.  I customize each massage to benefit the clients particular muscular needs.  Through dialog, passive & active stretching, chair and table massage I aim to decrease pain and muscular constrictions in the body while increasing range of motion.

My hope is to create a safe and peaceful environment that welcomes you to COME AS YOU ARE.  Encouraging you to step away from the demands of daily life, if only for a short while, to take some time for yourself.  I am interested in the overlap of ancient healing modalities across culture & continent.  Often times, I incorporate reflexology, guided energy medicine, and sound therapy into my massage sessions as a holistic approach to wellbeing.  Integrative healthcare brings together the best of scientific medicine AND ancient ritual practices.  My goal is to have you leave my office with less constriction, a wider rage of motion, feeling more grounded & in alignment.  I truly believe massage is for every body.

With nine years of dance experience and over a decade of yoga practice I also offer 1:1 stretching alignment sessions.  Movement invokes power, presence, and purpose at the core of who you are.  Through intention, breath, movement, and meditation I have helped clients reduce chronic pain and improve their health and lifestyle.   I customize each practice based on the clients needs & goals... from managing chronic pain & stress to addressing postural concerns and more.  Providing you with a grounding practice, I intend to both challenge & restore you.  We have the ability to rewire our physical and mental patterns through careful attention and intention.  1:1 alignment sessions give you the opportunity to learn more about your body and give you the tools to feel & move better.  

l enjoy the simple things in life such as reading, good food, music, dancing, & time spent with friends and in nature.  I love my family, photography, sunbathing, swimming, & boating.
